Ever since they entered the scene in 2019, we have had consistent dealings with Solaris Law. Of course, back then, they went by ‘Azzurro Law’ and were very closely tied to their counterpart company, Azzurro Associates.
We would see Azzurro Law represent Azzurro Associates on all legal and pre-legal cases for the debts the latter had purchased – most often from Funding Circle or Capital on Tap, but also from smaller secondary lenders like Liberis and YouLend. To this day, we have had little dialogue with Azzurro Associates themselves; both they and Solaris Law are part of the Azzurro Group.
Azzurro Law re-branded as Solaris Law in September 2023, and since then, we have begun to see them appointed on behalf of other creditors, most notably trade suppliers like ScrewFix / Trade UK.
In addition, Solaris Law has recently acquired Equivo Law, which itself was a spin-off from Shoosmiths in 2021. This will see them collecting and pursuing individuals in relation to RBS / NatWest and more trade supplier PG debt, since that has been the mainstay of Equivo’s client base with respect to PG debt.
It is perhaps noteworthy that this change of Solaris Law’s apparent scope seems to be coinciding closely with the current court action against Azzurro Associates in relation to a large swathe of Funding Circle debt they acquired, which we recently reported on HERE
